Comments (6)Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Have been thinking long and hard about it. We’ve revisited the shower position and we do want to keep that where it is with some waterproof shutters for the sake of modesty, helped by the fact we are up a slope from the road, and nothing above single story opposite. The WC space is a good question. We’ll continue to think on that. The current utility space is incredibly cramped and will become walk in storage, a kind of hybrid larder/vacuum cleaner space. Would love to remove a wall in there but that’s a huge job as it’s holding up the stairs! Anyway, thanks for challenging our ideas. Always good to go over everything again and we’ll no doubt continue to do so until work begins! Well, hopefully not that late in the day... Comments (7)Does the window on the right mean there’s not a house attached? One option might be to make the bottom half of bed 2 the smallest room, say 2.2x2.2m (small single), and then knock together the rest of it with bed 3 (which then ought to be big enough for a double bed with room either side and wardrobes at the end... lots of faff as you’d have to put a new window in but would give at least one decent bedroom? If you wanted to go all out on that you could also move the stairs across to where the cupboards are, but that would involve moving the downstairs loo and probably the front door so I suspect not financially sensible unless you’re a builder (or have one in the family :p)...See Morea kitchen diner with one side of the extension at an angle
Comments (6)Thanks for your replies, apologies for not getting back sooner. Our plan is to remove the walls between reception & extension, put in RSJ to support. Keep a small section of old kitchen for utility room & increase wc space. The reception room area will be our chill out space overlooking the new kitchen. Just finding it difficult to line everything up with the units running down one wall with an island parallel & dining table with all converging at narrowest point. Hope I haven’t confused the issue with too much info. Thanks Evelyn....See Morearc3d
