Design Dilemma Before & After Kitchens

Tile choice help!

Hi, we have purchased a Howdens Dove Grey Chelford kitchen with black handles and Blackstone worktop but i am really struggling to choose suitable tiles as the cabinets are such a light grey. The floor will be Pearl Grey LVT. Help please!!!! Photos would be appreciated too. Many thanks x

If you mean wall tiles then many people do not have them now. Most just have an upstand and a splashback behind the hob.

Thanks. im just concerned that the splashes on the wall above an upstand will look awful after time.

I now have access to the tiles so can see it all together. The Strong White is a fab match but I'm thinking if going 2 colours down so that we can use the same colour in the connecting utility room which had very pale matt grey units going in which are close to Ammonite in colour. So, Cornforth White seens like the ideal choice. Is F&B paint worth the extra cost, though, as we could try Crown's Linen Cupboard as an alternative? See pic:

I agree white against cream doesn't necessarily look the best. I would definitely go blue and paint the walls an off white instead of a brilliant white. Then use a dark grey grout to be in keeping with the floor colour. How are you arranging them? Herringbone style could look nice and really make an impact if in blue, depends how bold you want to go.

Thanks for your advice. Yes I plan on getting a few samples of ceramic wood effect tile. Have also been looking at VLT. Not sure about the blue. While it does draw on the colour in the hallway I'm just not that into a pale blue. Would prefer a dark blue which might work also. There is a good amount of daylight in the kitchen. I think the colouring in the photo below is quite good for the kitchen units. We plan on having a tall dresser which could be in that dark green with the remaining units in grey. That vinyl herringbone or parquet seems to be a popular current style choice. Not sure if it will clash with the hallway though.

I think white tiles, but laid in an interesting way, such as stacked, would look nice and won’t clash with the units. Hexagonal tiles are lovely too.

We have a dark counter and light cabinets. We haven’t got tiles just the counter up a little and the a stainless steel piece on the back of the cooker, the only area that’s a problem is the sink I wish we would have gone up to the window sill but it’s nothing a little wipe doesn’t fix if you have the right paint 😊

Tiles are very tricky. I generally go with the Ferreiras as they have various effects and some seriously brilliant designs in porcelain tiles and slabs. With light grey cabinets, go with dark tiles like that of Nero Marquina. Check out the pictures and details regarding the tiles.
