Painting bannister?

should i paint the hand rail or even the full bannister??

I was thinking farrow and ball railings…what do you think?

keep white or paint it?

Another option is to paint the under stair storage and bannisters in one colour. My sister has an almost identical hall and she painted all the woodwork Purbeck Stone by F&B, a soft taupe. It looks stunning.

Thanks all. Starting to worry the vardo is a step too far. I had dark grey in my last house which was lovely but Vardo is a bit more colourful. Just need to go for it i guess! Thinking a warm oak engineered or wood floor. The floor man came round really pushing Karndean floor on me ~says it's amazing. But to me it seems silly to buy Karndean then pay extra for an edging strip round each board to make it look like a board, might as well just buy a board. Toying with the idea of an engineered herringbone. I'm going to look at ammonite now thanks. Any and all ideas appreciated i don't want to muck this up.

Funny you should say that ED; a friend and I just decided to do our compilation show again at Edinburgh next year. We did it for the first time in 2017. It's called Laugh begins at Forty and has five or six different comedians over 40 performing every day. I'd better get the house finished!

Sorry, bit of a long thread but thought it’d still be clearer than starting a new one. I’ve touched on this subject before but want to present it to you again: Do you think painting these doors, of bathroom and separate toilet, in F&B’s Off Black would work? Also, would I need to paint the insides of the doors too?

We had all white in our old house but found the bannister got dirty. I’m new house we painted everything pointing except bannister which is railings.
