Hi @Charlotte Bailey, these images are real mood boards that our designers created for previous projects or finished photographs of the design.

My husband trusts me and prefers I make all those decisions. That said I always ask his opinion on large pieces. If I left it all to him he would lose interest before finishing! Design is so not his thing. But then I'm not interested in documentaries on outer space or Lego.... Best we stick to our own interests I think! ;)

How would you get more light into your home using your door choices?

To transfer light from a well externally-lit room to one that is not (eg internal hall) - glazed internal doors transform a space. These can be as decorative or as plain as required to suit the design of the space. On a recently completed project, we adopted a design that hinted towards the deco character of the building.

I love open fires, fireplaces and stoves. I miss my old cottage that had the coal-fired range in the kitchen, open fire in the sitting room and the luxury of an open fire in the bedroom. Ok it had no central heating and the reality would see me living in the kitchen in the winter months and running upstairs with a shovel full of burning coals from the kitchen stove to start the fire in my bedroom before bedtime. The bio fires look quite tempting where it's more something to look at than a heat source. Watching flames is very theraputic, dream house would have fireplace/stove in living rooms, bedroom and bathroom.

I bought a basement flat on a hill so the front door is down 15 steep steps and the back door opens onto a lovely terrace 40ft x 20ft. I wanted somewhere to hide and lick my emotional wounds. I loved my hole in the ground and made a little oasis for myself. I then became ill with an MS type dusease and can no-longer get up the steps. Everybody wanted me to move but I have no intention of leaving my oasis. I do not have the enegy to go out - takes me days to recover - but sitting in my garden watching my cats be outfoxed by tiny birds makes my heart glad Ilive in such a wonderful place.
