For just £250 we tailored a little sanctuary filled with all of this client’s favourite things, crafting a spot where relaxation meets inspiration. And the best part? The products came to under the client's £1,000 budget!

This client loved the functionality of their desk but craved a sprinkle of sparkle to jazz it up - something that would be besties with their beloved pink chair. So, what did we do?

We whipped up a magical concoction of soothing mint hues, woven in some chic rattan vibes, and peppered some pictures that related to the client's favourite things; from blooming spring blossoms to the serene beauty of the Greek islands.

All the info is on the picture ghesp, I've just had a look and there's quite a variety of colourways. I like the one shown. It's given me an idea though, I have a very large print, in sections, of a 19th century sketch map of our local county, I could probably display it as wallpaper in my wee office :-) So thanks for the inspiration Silkworm

Hi, there's a common mistake about people asking if you like this colour or not, this decor object or another, or what's the best colour for my space. It all depends on what you want to achieve. In this case, according to the style and furniture selection, this pastel pink is such a nice touch. It's not about the colour, it's about pastel. If the owner would have chosen a blue or green pastel the result would be the same. At this point, with the style and features chosen, it's just a matter of personal taste to choose between certain pastel colours. Even though I don't like this style or soft pink, I must say it's a very good job as the space harmonious, soft and warm, with a good style balance (not too classic nor modern). Hi all-I'm back:). Happy New Year! After a much needed holiday and some down-time, I am back on track! I decided to postpone the redecoration of my office till week after next so that I could take my time in choosing paint colours. I ordered 10 tester colours from Dulux and have been playing with them at work this morning. It's quite incredible how colours on your computer screen look nothing like they do when rolled on white paper or your wall! I'm so pleased I got these tester samples. My plan was to paint my 3 main walls (the only walls that will be painted) a light lilac with the false wall (below my window) a darker grey. But having seen the colours on the wall I could probably get away with a light grey for my 3 main walls and a darker lilac for the false wall-ledge. I want the false wall to stand out and be approx. 2 shades darker than the main walls. Having spoke to Dulux on the phone the woman advised against certain colours as they would make the room feel "closed in". Because it's a small space I do need to be careful not to use too dark a colour for the main walls. I've decided I'm keeping my purple blind so am basing my paint colour choice around the blind, and the grey chairs that I will be ordering from IKEA...attached/uploaded somewhere earlier in this thread:). I've already eliminated a couple of the tester colours simply because I find them too "baby pink"-as if for a newborn baby girl's room (i.e., Lavender Blossom=bottom colour on left) & Soft Montelimar 4=bottom colour on right). I don't want anything too girlie-most of my clients are men:). I've painted 5 colours on the left and 5 colours on the right-hopefully you can make out top to bottom, etc. I like Violet White (the top colour on the left) as a possibility for the 3 main walls, or Goose Down (top left), with Lavender Quartz (4th down on left), Grey Steel 2 (4th down on right) or Chic Shadow (2nd from top on left) as possible colours for my accent false wall (below the window). I love Lavender Quartz but fear it may be too dark for the 3 main walls. So this is where I'm at at the mo! If any of you talented designers have any preferences or colour combination recommendations (I need two colours-a lighter one for the 3 main walls and a darker one for my accent false wall/ledge)-I'm all ears. xx

Thank you for your photos and reply . The pinks really do look beautiful. I particularly like the colour scheme of the first one. I did think paneling may solve my issue so paneling part of the wall the same colour as the book shelf then painting above but whilst that room would look lovely, I would be at odds with the style of the rest of the house which doesn't have paneling and has a glass staircase for example.The desk is actually a dark navy but perhaps black would be a better match? I think the built in bookshelf is somewhat complicating matters as would you suggest I paint that pink too? The pinks pair beautifully with black but I wonder whether that may be too much for my North facing room particularly as the bookshelf will span the entirety of the wall? I have seen some beautiful studies all in deep dark blue but I wonder if this would be too dark? I have a TV room which I embraced the dark in a deep slate blue which I love but, as it's a TV room it works being dark. I'm not sure whether a home office would work as well. As you can see I'm getting myself in a right jumble! I have recently done my North facing bathroom and that took forever to get right (down pipe units with farrow and ball dive grey) so I'm trying to avoid painting and repainting this time!
