Floortrim and threshold question

Hi,
I recently got new flooring laid, laminate in upstairs landing and lVT in hallway, new skirting was fitted over the flooring and a decent job was done, overall I'm very pleased with the job.
However I'm not happy with the way some of the brass trims were finished (see photo of where the brass trims meet door frame, saddle? It doesn't look right. Just wondering what can be put over that to hide the untidy join? is there some sort of flexible colour matching plinthy thing that could be placed on top of it to hide it?
Also the other picture of my hallway threshold into living room and existing saddle which is quite deep slightly over and inch, just wondering if you have any suggestions on how to tidy this up?
Options I'm considering are:
1 Edging / nosing
2 Asking if floor fitter can remove top part of the saddle by cutting around the door frame so as not to leave a gap ...

I agree the detailed finishing is not great. The top one might be able to be tucked into the architrave if it was cut to accomodate it. By it I mean the pair of finishing strips at right angles to each other. The bottom one is slightly too wide it looks untidy because it does not match the architrave profile. A thinner strip might look better if possible. I have carpet finishing strips that are all thinner than the width of the architrave. It's much less noticeable. As they say the devil is in the detail.

Yikes! Remove those threshold strips. Use a quadrant moulding, and remove/replace the saddle. This is my hall to kitchen threshold. The saddle had already been removed, but I installed a new oak one (the floorboards are disjointed underneath).

I’m thinking of doing the carpeting myself in a terrace I rent out ( cost saving exercise during rental void) The house has had a knock through at some point to create a double reception. Currently the floor is covered with a tired laminate with a wide brass effect threshold or joining point in the gap between the two rooms. A simple question really . Do I also need to join the two carpets into this gap or is it ok to have a continuous run through ? If it’s one complete run the carpet will run for 26ft. personally I’d prefer a continuous run but wasn’t sure if any carpet experts would suggest otherwise or pick up on any problems doing this ? any help will be greatly appreciated

I think this is a really common question for a lot of people. If you only need partial opening (so no bifolds) then sliding doors is the most practical solution, for all the reasons you've given - no doors flapping about, doors don't take up space internally or externally and you can leave it a little open or a lot open, plus maximum glass for light and views. As much as I love proper original Crittal, my husband totally thinks they look like glass garage doors - and that image ruined them for me! Still love them in other people's houses (when done well), but together with all the practical reasons, we won't have them in ours.

Last min dilemma...Sliding door or Slide & Fold Door?!

Hi! A belated thank you to everyone who helped me finally make a decision! I went with a 3 pane sliding door (on a 3.7m opening) allowing me to open over half the width. I figured that with bifolds you would still have the frames stacked to one side which takes up a chunk of the opening as well. I chose the XP Glide from Express Bi-folds. Have found them professional and easy to deal with, we are just awaiting delivery now! The only bug I had is that their choice of handles were pretty basic, either a chunky (in my view an eye sore!) steel bar or a regular lever handle. They only come in black, grey or white! I was initially going with a very sleek 2 pane sliding door from Ultraline that had an integrated handle within the frame but the cost was too high for me to change it to a 3 pane. If I had the budget though I would have gone with them instead. Express Bi-folds do a slimmer framed option than XP Glide, I think it is called XP Panoramic. The 3 pane was more than Ultraline I think though. The consultant at Express-Bi-folds also advised against slimmer framed bonded glass options as if for any reason you damage the glass you have to replace the whole frame as well which is a major structural headache. Most slim framed options use this method though (as opposed to beaded - correct me if I am wrong!) so I would have chosen to ignore his advice if my budget allowed :-)
