Paint, wallpaper feature or painting?
We are finishing up this room with something on the wall in this recessed part, but we are not sure if it should be a painted internal feature wall, wallpaper, or a big rectangular painting in landscape orientation over the couch. Maybe something else?
On the left you can see where we have blocked out space for a big mirror with masking tape. It will reflect whatever goes on that wall from most other vantage points in our flat.
What should we do with this white space behind the grey couch?

Rachel, yes we wanted something really bold on one wall. It's quite a small area because we have a fairly low picture rail, and the bed will cover some of it. We're having two white floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobes opposite, either side of a chimney breast, and we'll paint the walls a soft colour to match a shade in the paper. It's just this big bay window I'm not sure about - basically one whole wall is window and curtains (it's a typical master bedroom in a 1930s 3 bed semi). 19 days agoI think art or that particular mural Isla suggested would work. If art I might go for a set of 2, 3 or 4 given the shape of the mirror. I might also try masking the mirror out so that it sits 8 or so inches lower than the top of the recessed wall. Fluted panelling could also work
Lovely room and view. I’m curious are you in Rotherhithe or have i got that completely wrong?!
