Space saving ideas for small kitchen

Hi, please could you advise on a new square kitchen layout. The photo shows current water, boiler & gas pipe placements.

I would like a slim dishwasher, tall fridge/freezer, washer/dryer appliances & seating. And for it to be functional, have unit/shelf/worktop space, electric ufh & not feel too pokey or closed in.

The small cupboard above the sink opens horizontally and is actually pretty inconvenient, so I'm sure that a rack would work well thinking about it. As for the spices, they need some serious decluttering! I'm considering another shelving unit on the opposite wall to hold everything currently on the worktop. Unfortunately, there's no other space for a dining table but I have been looking at smaller expendable models as we hardly use our current one. Extra pull out worktops would be ideal! I'm not sure if there is quite enough space above the white goods but I will have another scan of the kitchen. Hopefully they will work somewhere as the extra preparation area would be so useful. Just buying this one bed flat but need some ideas please. On a very tight budget but love sourcing items from anywhere to save on cost. The views are of the hills when looking to the right of the window l. To the left the roof juts out and doesn't give such a good view. Storage heater will need covering. Any suggestions on colours, furniture layout will be greatly received x

Unless this flat is to be a family home - or you're planning to throw lavish dinner parties, I would seriously consider how much storage you actually need, and perhaps start from what you need, rather than how much you can fit in. The ideas of a u shaped kitchen and a sliding door to the living room I think will optimise your space, and I'm thinking a sideboard in the living room would store your table crockery and cutlery, again reducing what needs to be in the kitchen. Looks like a lovely flat - hope you really enjoy doing it. A last minute thought - you can often get ex display units from top kitchen shops very reasonably priced.

Hi Faith Exciting project! We’ve renovated four Victorian houses and been delighted with the result. Based on your plan I would probably extend onto the lean to footprint. You could leave the loo where it is and have a utility area / boot room / muddy access just before it. I might remove the jutting out part that I think is the old outside loo. Lots of glass in the roof and build generally should bring enough light back through to the room marked dining. You would then have space for an L shaped kitchen coming from the right as you walk through the door from dining to kitchen. The LHS of the room could be new dining and incorporate some China and glass storage that side too. Have fun- will be beautiful.
