Window dressing windows of different heights
Comments (8)I still think blinds at the bay window would look better, you can use a thick fabric and have a thick lining put in as well. I'm not so sure that hanging curtains from the crown detail would look right above the door.... I'd be more inclined to go from the picture rail height..... just personal opinion! Also, what colour are you thinking of doing the walls and are the window coverings likely to be heavy patterned or plainer textured fabric? Just thinking that if the walls were say a beige then a darker shade for the window coverings with a slight pattern or texture it would be less obvious that the windows were different heights, your eye wouldn't be drawn to it so much as a heavy pattern....See MoreBlind/roller/curtain/other solution for awkwardly large bay windows
Comments (11)Lovely big windows! As others have suggested lightweight light coloured curtains wouldn't have the bulk of thick curtains, so wouldn't take up too much space on each side but they would help frame the windows. They would also still let some light in. If you had white or another light colour they would bring further brightness into the room. But you might only want them either side of the window. Also thought these examples of bay windows with roman blinds and simple curtains, still letting light in as the roman blinds could be in a voile like material or a neutral colour. That way you close off where privacy is needed and then have everything open the rest of the time. Hope that helps....See MoreCurtain solutions for an angled window
Comments (3)With unusual windows you can’t beat the advice and knowledge of a curtain/blind company. They had a large array of tracks. I had a bay window with nowhere for a rail, we went into our local curtain shop and they suggested a white metal track attached to the ceiling. The track had cords to open and close it too and the company fitted it for us. We couldn’t afford their curtains but at least we got the track sorted!...See MoreHelp with length, height and colour of curtains
