help needed re garden trellis idea

Hi,

My neighbour recently renovated their property however between my outdoor area and the back of their property there is an old green wooden trellis that would be great to change/modernize.

I’ve dropped a couple of pics here - anything on the near side of the green trellis is my area -
And the primary colour of my outdoor area is white.

Any ideas pls.

That is just a picket fence. So you are wanting to change their fence? Are they okay with that? If so, you could change it to a solid fence and paint it a colour to suit your terrace. Just depends on your budget really.

If that wall gets a lot of sun why not use it to grow herbs vertically. You could also make a green wall which could look amazing. I wouldn't touch the fence at the top without speaking to your neighbours first with regard to ownership. Replacing it is not that simple as it is part of their continuous fence. It looks as though you may have space to run your own panel fence alongside their picket fence above your high wall though. It may provide privacy for both of you. Slatted wood could look great.

Hi Ellie, ok I will edit it more as it should read we want all the shrubs and trees removed which is a tall feat when your not qualified I would guess. Also with the council not available to remove garden waste, we already have a lot piling up with the compost awaiting the date for when we can remove it. Our garden already has fence all the way around, however it needs updating as it has broken it a lot of places.

Oh my word! Dyson is adorable! so ickle!! Now I wanna find a Rune (his name - like rune stones.. not like Rooney 😂) sized box to put him in. Thanks for the 3rd design! I'm always impressed how you come up with such interesting designs (compared to my rectangle of grass with straight boarders I'd envisioned) I think we still prefer the 1st design in part because Chris want's to keep more of the grass. I'd be tempted though to put some sort of low fence to deter Rune from eating crops so maybe I could put some plants against it and growing up that to help disguise? I think the old paving slabs is the best way forward atm instead of the stones... I never truly appreciated how many stones there were just around the garden... just around on the grass.. close to the house and rubble left from the building work, random ones on the small remaining bit of patio that I think have been kicked in from the driveway... Ironically the pile of new ones all in one place are the easiest to keep him away from! (doing the driveway has also jumped up to a higher priority for the year! 🙈) Does Dyson like your Dyson? (assuming you have one) I managed to terrify him the other day when I tried to clear up some of the bits of grass we'd brought back in with us (despite having a treat at the time!)
