Internal door finish - which would you choose?
Any advice on choosing a suitable internal door finish colour and ironmongery that will complement walnut stairs, elements of black crittall doors, soft light grey tiling in open plan space and wood finish herringbone in remainder of rooms downstairs, high ceilings, antique brass sockets and switches? Contemporary.

13 days agoIsla this is really very helpful advice and very much appreciated. I have a lot of light coming through and the white doors were never really on my radar but worth considering. I had considered black or graphite as we do have the light coming through. It would give more scope for flooring. I quite like buster and punch also. My internal doors most likely will be laminate finish, walnut veneer are not within budget unfortunately. Thanks so much again for all.

Comments (15)Hi Huw, Polyflor are a top UK (Manchester) manufacturer. The 0.55mm wear layer gives it a heavy commercial rating. You'll get tired of it's looks way before it wears out… true story! Not sure about the origins of Luvanto. QA have sourced it from the manufacturer and put their own label on it. QA are a flooring distributor. Doubt you'll be able to buy directly from them and most likely will have to buy through a third party. We'd recommend you approaching both Polyflor and QA, asking for the technical data sheets for these products, saying you specifically want to know what the UV rating is for these products and are they guaranteed not to fade? We'd recommend not taking Jonathan's acrylic high gloss floor polish suggestion.
