What colours should I choose to go with my aubergine/cream kitchen?
Comments (8)I would go for high gloss mustard green wet wall where the tiles were. This colour looks great with aubergine and the sleek finish will instantly update the kitchen. Positional ceiling halogens and lighting under the wall cupboards to make the rich colours glow. I think three colours are fine, especially if you pull them together in a blind fabric or cushion. ???...See MoreHelp what colour should I paint my kitchen

Comments (11)We also have a north east facing kitchen, we used farrow and balls, Purbeck stone on our wall of units at the back of the kitchen (its warmer than using grey which can look cold in a north facing room), pelt on our peninsula and dimity on the walls, it give off pink hues during the day and is (nice) sort of creamy beige in the evening / on dull days. We took samples of our flooring and work top to a F&B shop/consultant and they were really helpful in confirming that the colours we wanted would work in our N/E facing room. I was pretty fixed on the the purbeck stone and pelt and it was they that suggested using dimity on the walls. Also as already suggested, tester pots and paint on large pieces of paper that you can move around the room is a good idea....See MoreWhat colours would brighten my kitchen
Comments (21)How’s the artificial lighting? Have you considered a mirrored splashback behind the oven? I’d put a normal mirror there (whilst the oven isn’t on!) to see what a difference it makes. The curtains and coats also look as if they’re blocking light. Maybe you could remove everything temporarily to see what the light is like? You could also consider something like Dulux light and space on your ceiling which reflects a lot more light than standard paints or I have little Greene intelligent eggshell on my kitchen walls which has a sheen level of 15% (not good for any imperfections in the plaster though!).The wood doesn’t seem to be reflecting much light at all so I’m sure painting them is probably going to help anyway unless you go really matt. Stunning kitchen btw!...See MoreCWD
