Help picking internal doors in bungalow pls!

Looking for some design advice - in the process of renovating our bungalow and close to finishing the master bedroom and need to buy doors . We don’t fancy the modern slab or lined wood effect veneer door but wanted something stylish that would have a wow factor . Whilst I think white is the safest option I’m afraid it will be a little unremarkable? We have cashmere coloured wardrobes and skimming stone walls so afraid a coloured door would clash .. help ! Here are some pics (ignore the colour of the walls or the floor in the hallway we haven’t painted yet or fitted the new flooring)

I imagine changing that many doors will be costly, so how about having some fun with your current doors first? Leave aside your 'changing door budget' for a few months - no doubt you've had a million decisions to make during this renovation. I'd suggest you paint each one a different colour ( send guests to the blue loo?) Or add wallpaper/ decals to make them look handmade. Easy has some inexpensive designs which would change the look, maybe even making a door disappear. Good luck with it - unleash your inner art gallery.

Would it be possible to take down the wall between the kitchen and the unsued space and extend the kitchen out a bit? Or if not, put in an internal window sized opening with a counter top, barstools one side and worktop and cupboards on the kitchen side. Kitchen planners are usually free, I'd get them to look at what you can do with your space and even if you cant afford to do the kitchen now, at least you know what you can do with the space and work around that idea to get a long term picture. If you want to leave the walls as they are, how about buying a 6 cube IKEA Kallax Unit and putting it beside where you first walk in to create a small divider between the entrance and the dining room. As they are open shelving, it will still let the light through but create the illusion of a proper entrance way. You could even put the unit longways, so it is low and have a row of indoor plants along the top. Restaraunts often have to work with a large open space and make the illusion of entrance ways and separate areas so its worth keeping that in mind when you're out and about!

Hi. I like Jonathan's idea but if it were mine if do it a little differently. I'd make the top of the garage a small utility (I think there's just about room?!) as I think most people use garages as storage nowadays. I'd make the bedroom next to the hall a little bigger so move the front door and room door and make that bedroom a snug as I think people tend to favour living space over sleeping and not many people need a 5 bed home. Based on the door size it just looks too small to be used as a snug/lounge now and personally I'd want a separate room if going open plan living. Is there a reason however that you want to move the stairs? i also think it's important to have a decent size hall in a property of this size

We had 1960s glass in double sliding doors that we replaced with safety glass when grandchildren came arrived. Shortly after, a friend's wee boy fell downstairs and went through a non safety glass door to a vestibule and cut an artery. You can imagine the panic. Fortunately he was blue lighted quickly to hospital and was ok. We were relieved for them all and glad we had done what we could to prevent an accident like this in our house. I would replace the glass if I were you.

I have a friend who did the same- she had all the internal walls down and started again with electrics, heating, walls etc. Her research showed the cost was identical to making piecemeal changes. Its still an expensive job and she took it on because the purchase price was right…. But if you are paying market value and still have to do lots of work it might be better to keep looking for a property that ticks more boxes. This is what I would do to the layout to maximise the space- don’t forget that changes to the front will also need planning permission
