Idriz & HardingThis brilliant small courtyard garden is just 6m long by 4m wide and is backed by a railway. The Brief for this design was for a Modern style with dramatic, dark colours and a better arranged entertainment area with BBQ & Bin storage.
As the garden is small, it was important for us to create the perfect layout and make use of the sunlight and surrounding features as much as we could. By painting the beautiful 'cobblestone wall' a dark colour and planting tall plants in front, we gave the garden a feeling of lengthening. The BBQ & Bin store not only acts as storage but a surface to cook on and a small herb garden.

Vogue & Vine - Landscape Designers SydneyOur inner-city client in Redfern had a small outdoor courtyard which was impractical and he never used it for entertaining.
Vogue and Vine were called in to create a liveable outdoor room and maximise space for seating and entertaining.
We put down a new concrete floor and created built in bench seating and garden beds. We broke the space up using different materials and a modern colour palette.
We used outdoor sofas and built in cushions to add a touch of glamour and warmth.

Wood and Hearts● The Climbing furniture is made from high class polished birch plywood. Birchwood is very strong and flexible. The products are tested at a load of 100 kg, but the maximum load for use is 60 kg. We make sure that everything is brought to perfect condition.
● It is absolutely safe for children: for painting, we use only high-quality, sustainable water-based paints, environmentally friendly varnish. And that’s why our products do not cause any allergic reactions, does not emit harmful substances.

In just 1,400 square feet, not only did we give them a pool and spa, but also an inviting area for lounging and eating, created from repurposed vintage brick. Their love of Mexican design is seen in a new Talavera-tiled outdoor shower area. Softly billowing California native plants mingle with a growing collection of cacti and succulents.

Dorthy Pautz Landscape ArchitectThe design for the new custom stepped redwood fence and gate incorporated a narrow trellis top for Akebia vines. The horizontal slats are expressed with a modern reveal but there are no gaps, for privacy. The topiary trees are Majestic Beauty Hawthorns, which will quickly bulk up in height and spread and create even more privacy from neighboring houses. Think Outside Gardenshe brief for this Paddington terrace garden was to update an existing rundown courtyard in line with the modern interiors of the house. The design aimed to maintain neat clean lines, use a formal but interesting palette of material, maximise space for entertaining, retain access to the rear lane and deal with a sloping site.
Built in seating with a backrest allows for the change in levels – incorporating retaining and pushed up against the side boundary maximises space for entertaining. A delicate yet contrasting plant palette and water feature selection was chosen to match the house interiors and simple light grey large format tiles let these elements shine. The wrap around bench seat is semi floating to allow for a shadow line and the illusion of more space. It allows for casual seating – a pop of yellow in the Acapulco chairs is a welcome addition against the soft grey facade of the house.
A cluster of white pots on the timber porch adds to the composition and Bamboo and Magnolia Little Gems provide a green backdrop and screen of the neighbouring properties. A fixed outdoor umbrella offers shade over the seating areas.
The design and look of the garden compliments the architecture and interiors of the residence. It is a design that is sophisticated in its simplicity, with interesting materials and plants but also with functional space that perfectly suits the needs and entertaining requirements of its owners.
